Single this Valentine’s day? Me too. Whether you’re single by accident or design, being single on Valentine’s day doesn’t have to be a downer. If you’re stuck for something to do here’s a (sometimes tongue in cheek) list of ideas to get you started. Have fun!
Binge Fleabag while getting steadily more drunk and eating snacks
This is pretty much my plan. I’ve got the kids home so I can’t go out; Fleabag is essentially a posh, childless version of me; I like wine and get hungry. So this is the perfect solution! If I’m still awake after I’ve done Fleabag, I’ll put something on with Mads Mikkelsen in it. What a babe!
Book something fun for you and a friend
Do something outside of going to the pub for some beers. Or, you know, just go to the pub for some beers with your mates. Take advantage of couple’s deals for dinner or go the extra mile and get a couple’s massage.
Go to a singles party
There are always singles parties about – check out a couple of your favourite venues. If you can’t find anything you fancy, you can always host your own, complete with some vegan romantic dinner options.
Go on a date
Who says you can’t do something romantic on Valentine’s day just because you aren’t in a relationship? Idiots, that’s who. Get swiping, and find something fun to do with someone new. Who knows where the date could lead?
Have a spa day
Shut off from social media and the outside world, and book yourself into a spa for the day. Spending the day relaxing and recharging sounds like heaven to me – if I’m still single next year and the kids are with their dad, this is 100% in my diary.
Have a Valentine’s Secret Santa
Get some of your single friends together and sort out a secret santa. You could do it the old fashioned way by pulling names out of a hat or by using something like Elfster.
What are you up to on Valentine’s day? Let me know in the comments!
