It hit the fan but I’m carrying on anyway!
For the last few weeks, I’ve felt like my feet have hardly touched the floor. My life is exciting, productive and I love what I do! However: sometimes, I rush a little too much. That happened the weekend before last, leading me to board the wrong train and (eventually) end up in a&e with what turned out to be heat exhaustion and dehydration. Finding out who was there to support me has been both heart-warming and demoralising, with one of those closest to me taking the opportunity to tell me everything he thinks I’m doing wrong at life. No pressure then!
In cases like these, it can be as simple as someone’s worries running away with them. Not everybody will stop and think to raise those concerns in a considerate way, even if you have just suffered a traumatic event! Ultimately, we can’t make people be more considerate if they’re not willing. We need to shake it off, keep our eyes on the prize and remember there are people out there who will support us no matter what. This week we’re talking about following our hearts.
The Little Happy Journal Live
Three things that made me happy: Visiting Puzzlewood with the kids, my new water bottle, my family looking after me when I was poorly/getting better.
What challenged me and what I did about it: The whole recent ordeal has been a challenge, and from now on I’m going to have my travel plans written down in advance, always carry water and be kind to myself even when others aren’t feeling kind.
What I’m looking forward to this week: my stylist consultation with Mummy Style, using my new Klean Kanteen water bottle on a pop vending machine and getting school reports for the children.
This week, focus on: following your heart. We all have hopes and dreams, and often we are told they are unrealistic, or we panic and give up. Today I want you to get that dream in sharp focus, and then think about what steps you’ll have taken to get there. Keep retracing those steps until you are at the present day. What is the next thing you need to do to get the life you want? Figure it out, then take that first step.
