What To Buy A Green Mama For Christmas

Basically my own Christmas list, but let’s pretend it’s a blog post.

Christmas. It’s a time for giving and receiving, for letting your family and friends know how dear they are to you. But what do you buy a green mama who is moving away from a toxic cycle of overconsumption? Read on to find out…

Second hand clothes is an easy option if you know what size your eco mama wears. I find eBay the best place to go for second hand clothes: just type your brand, item and size in the search bar and you should be able to find plenty to suit you.

I’ve been thinking about getting a stainless steel safety razor for a while now. Some of the offerings on Etsy are beautiful – they would make a lovely present for someone who is already quite far on the zero waste journey.

Second hand tech and games (usually from Cex) are always a big hit in our house, and not just for the kids! By buying your tech and gaming gear second hand, you’re making sure no new tech gets produced on your behalf.

Zero waste goodies from Etsy. I absolutely love Etsy for zero waste goodies! My favourite shops at the moment are TabithaEveCo from Cardiff and CrimsonMoonCSP from Holywell.

Vegan booze. You know your green mama best – what does she like? Check Barnivore for the best vegan booze offerings. If you’re looking for something British and amazing, Angelsey-based Condessa make a vegan black cherry liqueur that is the stuff of dreams. If you’re extra handy, you could always make your own!

Preloved kitchen appliances. I’m always on the lookout for something else to play with in the kitchen. Pinterest has me eyeing up waffle irons and Instant Pots, but I really, really don’t want to buy something new. Thankfully, eBay has me covered.

Zero waste beauty products. I’m not a massive makeup fan, but I do love a good pamper sesh. Etsy has lots of zero waste beauty and makeup offerings. For soaps, try Lush or Iuvo skincare.
