Starting up your own blog, or want a nudge in the right direction? You are in the right place!

The Tech Every Blogger Needs

The laptop I use is the Acer Aspire ES 15 which suits my blogging needs perfectly.  The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 and the Apple MacBook Pro both look like pretty solid laptops to start your blogging journey with.

I am never without my phone. You’ll need a phone that takes decent pictures on the go (for when you forget your camera). You need enough data to get you through the month. The solution? I use the Samsung Galaxy S7 and I’m still happy with it now.

The Best Social Schedulers for Bloggers

SocialOomph has been a godsend for Twitter – set up tweets to go out forever, between two dates or just about any possibility you can think of. My reach and engagement on Twitter are so much higher now. It doesn’t cost much more than a weekly cup of coffee either!

I use Tailwind both for my Pinterest and Instagram accounts. They figure out what time is best to post at and can post to Pinterest and Instagram for you. Need hashtag research? No problem – Tailwind tells you which hashtags are best for you. And if you want to post to Instagram yourself so you can add filters, they’ll send you a text reminder so all you do is copy and paste. Get a free month of Tailwind here!

MailChimp is what I use to write and schedule my newsletters. It’s free for up to 2000 subscribers but there are paid options after that.

My Favourite WordPress Plugins

I love WPTasty for all of my pinning needs! You can set a specific pin description that will be picked up by Tailwind and have hidden pins in every post.

Yoast is the go-to plugin for all things SEO. I do not know a single blogger that isn’t using it!

I use ConvertPlus for all of my info bars on the site.

Photos and video

Good photography is so important in the blogging world these days. I use the Nikon D3400 for all of my blog photography. It also takes great video!

These backdrops by Capture By Lucy are amazing.

Canva makes editing images a dream! I couldn’t recommend Canva For Work highly enough.

Other amazing blogging gear

Not gear but absolutely the best moves I’ve made for my business are joining The Revolution Inner Circle and grabbing a Pin-Ultimate package from The Blog Assistant. Money well spent in both cases!

The next best step you can take is hiring a VA. A virtual assistant will take the jobs off your hands that you can’t get to yet – meaning you have more results, faster. Have a look at my virtual assistant website to browse my virtual assistant services for bloggers.
